What's your favorite photo you took for this project? Why?
My favorite photo features a mother, daughter and granddaughter sharing a family meal at home. My mother and grandmother have passed on, so moments like this hold a special place in my heart, and I'm grateful to have preserved this memory for them. This photo serves as a testament to the beauty and strength of intergenerational bonds.
How do you hope your photos help users tell better, more age-inclusive stories about our region?
Age differences can sometimes act as barriers or be used as tools of division, but I believe these barriers can be broken down through thoughtful storytelling. By emphasizing our shared humanity, I hope my work encourages viewers to see the value and wisdom in every stage of life.

What's your favorite photo you took for this project? Why?
My favorite photos show people of all ages at an outdoor concert at Hartwood Acres. They are smiling as they enjoy the music. For me, the shots are reminiscent of photos of Woodstock. I like how they tie a couple generations together and tell the relationship between people of different ages.
What's your favorite thing about photographing intergenerational groups?
I enjoy talking with the people I photograph, no matter the age. I like getting to make a connection, even if only for a few moments.

What's your favorite photo you took for this project? Why?
I loved photographing a family and their dog in Washington County. Even though it was a quick "grab shot," they were happy to be a part of the project. Bystanders were clearly enjoying watching them pose for the photo too. Sometimes the photography stars align!
What's your favorite thing about photographing intergenerational groups?
The creative element. When I can envision a scene, and create it using photography, that's the most satisfactory part of my job. I have found that if you are clear with your intentions and are respectful of who you are photographing, you will make good photographs, no matter the age of the subjects, and it is a rewarding experience for everyone.

What's your favorite photo you took for this project? Why?
It is difficult to pick just one image. The images from the taco stand in Beechview are fun. Our subjects ignored the camera which helped me capture authentic and joyful images. They understood our mission.
What's your favorite thing about photographing intergenerational groups?
Group photographs of multiple generations are fascinating because I love photographing relationships. I'm looking for connection, respect, strength and love. Capturing the energy is important in order to tell their stories.

What's your favorite photo you took for this project? Why?
Easy! Bicycling couple in Friendship. They were visiting from California and were exploring Pittsburgh, taking in the sights and sounds I take for granted everyday. In addition to being generous with their time, they also radiated love and happiness, and it would have been impossible to take a picture of them where that wasn't evident.
What's your favorite thing about photographing intergenerational groups?
Their kindness. Giving your time and image to a photographer is incredibly generous and all the folks I came across were so kind and patient in their willingness to work together and make images to help Age-Friendly.
