Work Groups
Local experts in transportation, housing, digital access, workforce and dementia lead our five Work Groups.
Leaders–who work both in and outside of aging–gather to bring our work to life. Here are some examples of past Work Group projects:
COVID Transportation Network
During COVID-19 stay-at-home orders, helped establish a Transportation Network utilizing paratransit vehicles to move food and supplies—rather than people—delivering tens of thousands of meals and truckloads of supplies, including PPE.
A to B Allegheny
In partnership with nearly 29 public and private transit providers, launched an online concierge tool called A to B Allegheny, for riders to better navigate their options.
Workforce Accessibility for All
Identified 20+ resources and tips for older adults seeking employment, summarized in this guide: AFGP Workforce Resource 2022. Distributed to 20+ agencies to support jobseekers.
Dementia Friendly
Continual training of businesses and individuals around supporting people living with dementia and their care partners. Dementia Friends Pennsylvania has trained 10,000 community members across Pennsylvania.
Digital Access Stories
Produced advocacy video celebrating the success of older adults getting online and learning tech skills. 350+ views and shares on social media.
